Maybe there’s a reason Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick have yet to win Sprint Cup titles.
To Be A Sprint Cup Champ, Don’t Run Nationwide
↵WSOC-TV reporter Alan Cavanna did a breakdown of the last 18 Cup champs on his Facebook page, and the results are tough to dispute: Only one of those Cup champs (Terry Labonte) have run more than half the Busch/Nationwide Series events during the season they won. And none have run the full season.
↵Half of the Cup champs, Cavanna noted, haven’t run a single Nationwide Series event during their championship season.
↵It seems telling from these stats that in order to be the champ, drivers need to focus on their Cup ride.
