Which College Conferences Send The Most Players To The NFL?

Gentlemen, start your barfights: It’s the ACC, for exactly the reasons you’d think.
• ACC: Miami outstrips Florida State, 63-56, and doubles up their first-round picks 26-13. They in turn outstrip everybody else: the next closest team in first-rounders is BC with seven.
• Big 12: Oklahoma leads the conference with 42 overall picks; Nebraska follows with 41, but Texas leads the conference by a gulfy margin in first-round picks with 13.
• Big East: 29 from Louisville, 26 from Pitt, and nobody with more than three first-rounders (Pitt and Syracuse).
• Big Ten: Like everything else around here, it’s Ohio State and the losers. Sixty-nine Buckeyes have gone to the pros, with 16 of them first-rounders. Wisconsin and Michigan have both had 44 draft picks; the next closest in first-rounders is Penn State with nine.
• Pac-10: Surprise, surprise; it’s USC and the other guys. 61 Trojans, 15 in the first round. Next best: Cal, with 35.
• SEC: It’s a tandem at the top -- Georgia has 55 and Tennessee and 54. The two teams also lead in first-round picks with 11 and 10 respectively. The Pac-10 and SEC are the only conferences in which all schools have sent sent double-digit numbers to the League. Of these, only Mississippi State has no first-rounders this decade.
