Pittsburgh takes Maurkice Pouncey with the 18th pick, and thus continues a historical fondness for athletic, cerebral centers who can pull, make line calls, and still knock defenders on their buttmeat with ease.Pouncey is big, fast, a multi-year All-Conference and All-American performer, and along with twin brother Mike provided much of the thump behind Florida’s offensive line. Despite the white tee and casual dress, he’s also a fine character pick for an organization that is suddenly very concerned with these things.
