Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Kendry Morales hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to put Los Angeles ahead, and the Angels held on for a 6-4 win over New York in the opener of a three-game set with the Yankees.

Morales finished 3-for-3 with three runs batted in for the Angels, who snapped a two-game slide. Fernando Rodney (2-0) pitched a scoreless eighth inning to take the win, while Brian Fuentes tossed a perfect ninth for his second save.
Angels starter Ervin Santana allowed four runs in six innings and did not factor into the decision, as was the case with Yankees starter A.J. Burnett, who gave up four runs in 6 1/3 frames.
Joba Chamberlain (0-1) gave up Morales' homer to take the loss, the Yankees' second in a row after a six-game win streak. Nick Swisher homered in the loss, while Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez each had two hits and an RBI.
