A’s Brett Anderson Leaves Game Vs. Indians With Elbow Tightness

Brett Anderson, the Athletics' 22-year-old left-hander, has been regarded by some as the future ace of the Oakland rotation -- a sentiment that has grown more popular on the heels of Anderson's start to the 2010 season.

Anderson had to leave Saturday’s game, however, due to elbow tightness. From the San Francisco Chronicle:

Brett Anderson, recently given a multi-year deal that could take him through his first year of free agency and pay him as much as $31 million, exited with tightness in his left elbow after throwing 80 pitches.

We don’t know yet whether this is serious, but we’ll follow up with more information as it becomes available.

In the meantime, be sure to check in with our Oakland A’s blog, Athletics Nation.
