Dan Boyle tied the game at two in the third period less than three minutes after Colorado had taken the lead. Pavelski assisted on that one to finish with three points.
Evgeni Nabokov only needed to make 16 saves in the series-clincher for the Sharks, who needed to rally with three straight wins to oust the pesky eighth- seeded Avs.
Devin Setoguchi and Douglas Murray helped seal the victory with empty-net scores in the final minute.
Brandon Yip tallied a third-period goal to give the Avs a short-lived lead. Marek Svatos also scored and Craig Anderson ended with 30 saves as Colorado's bid to become the third No. 8 seed to topple a No. 1 in five seasons fell short.
