Olsen, Nats Shut Out Dodgers 1-0, Regain Winning Record
Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Scott Olsen threw seven shutout innings and Adam Dunn's run-scoring groundout in the first inning held up, as the Washington Nationals edged the Dodgers, 1-0, in the rubber match of a three- game series.
Olsen (1-1) gave up six hits and walked one, but held the Dodgers scoreless thanks in part to his eight strikeouts. Tyler Clippard pitched a scoreless eighth, while Matt Capps closed the game in the ninth for his eighth save of the season.
Nyjer Morgan went 2-for-4 and scored the game's lone run as Washington closed a 10-game homestand with a 6-4 record.
Chad Billingsley (1-1) got the loss despite allowing only one run on four hits and two walks in six innings. He also struck out five.
James Loney and Casey Blake each had two hits, but the Dodgers stranded seven runners in losing their second consecutive series.
