Boozer, Jazz Push Nuggets To Brink With 117-106 Victory
Boozer was a force down low, making 13-of-19 shots for the Jazz, who have won three straight games to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Utah, which played its first Sunday home game since May 11, 2008 due to the Mormon culture in Salt Lake City, beat the Nuggets at home for the seventh time in eight games and 26th in the last 30 overall.
Deron Williams added 24 points and 13 assists, while C.J. Miles had a playoff career-high 21 points. Wesley Matthews contributed 18 points for Utah.
Carmelo Anthony scored 39 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Nuggets, who struggled due to their lack of ball distribution. Denver, which was 44-7 in the regular season when it posted 20 or more assists and 9-22 when it didn’t, recorded only 13 assists as a team on Sunday.
Chauncey Billups had only 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting, and Kenyon Martin added 14 points and nine rebounds in defeat.
