All day Saturday it was reported that Creighton’s Dana Altman would be named Oregon’s next basketball coach but the confirmation never came. The Ducks are waiting until Monday it seems to officially announce Altman as the choice to end the whirlwind search.
If It Quacks Like A Duck: Dana Altman To Be Named Oregon’s New Head Coach
Altman and Pat Kilkenny, the former Oregon athletic director who led the coaching search, landed at Eugene Airport on Sunday evening in Kilkenny’s private jet. They hopped into an SUV and drove to an undisclosed location to meet Altman’s new players.
Once Altman accepts the job, expect Duck fans to get excited. Oregon blog Addicted To Quack is already getting giddy.
...If this is indeed the case, its a solid hire. He has a reputation as a solid X’s and O’s guy, and a good recruiter. His Creighton teams have made the postseason 13 seasons in a row, and he hasn’t had a losing record since 1995.
