Mav’s Erick Dampier Fined $35K For Comments On Refs

Following Friday's Dallas loss to San Antonio in Game 3 of their playoff series, Erick Dampier criticized the refs and the perceived treatment the Mavs were getting.

“When we play defense we’re under a magnifying glass,” said Dampier. “But when we’re on offense, there’s no magnifying glass.”

And that will cost Erick $35,000 because David Stern and the NBA have fined Dampier for those comments. Stern said recently that he would consider suspending players for making comments about the refs but so far is sticking to the usual $35K fine.

Game Five of the series is Tuesday night, the Spurs lead 3-1.
