Dany Heatley Outpitched By Young Girl

↵Plenty of celebrities, dignitaries, fellow athletes, politicians and other figures of note have managed to botch the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game over the years. The vast majority of these disgraced amateur hurlers are not placed side by side with a 17-year-old girl who is also tossing out a pitch. Such was the plight of San Jose Sharks winger Dany Heatley last night at the Giants-Phillies game.↵↵Not only does the girl get the ball to the catcher while Heatley drills it into the ground, he does so while trying to show off his mechanics. The girl simply hitches her arm back and flings it to the plate. Heatley, meanwhile, goes into a near full wind-up. It clearly helped him generate some power behind the throw, if not assist with his accuracy. In the future, he might consider toning it down on the style points.↵
