The Denver Nuggets are “extremely fearful” that center Nene likely tore his ACL in Wednesday night’s Nuggets-Jazz game, according to the Denver Post.
Bad News For The Nuggets: Nene Likely Has A Torn ACL
After he hobbled off the floor in Denver last night with what trainers called a sprain knee, most Nuggets fans could hold out hope that their starting center might might return. If not last night, then in game 6 or 7. But not so, apparently. Again from the Denver Post:
Nene is scheduled for an MRI today, which will determine the severity of the injury. Given some of the preliminary tests done on Wednesday night, it is not expected to turn back good news.
At the point in which he was injured, Nene had played inspired basketball. In 14 minutes the big man scored just two points, but had four assists in a Nuggets offense that moved well and found cutters for easy baskets.
And just like that, Denver’s post defense just got a lot more vulnerable, and winning Game 6 in Utah becomes that much more difficult.
