MRI Reveals That Brad Lidge’s Elbow Is Doing All Right
There was some degree of concern when Brad Lidge was sent home to have his sore elbow examined, but fortunately we can put that all to bed:
With Ryan Madson out, the Phillies could ill afford to have Lidge miss more time. Now it would appear that they won’t have to worry about that. At least not now.

Brad Lidge came off the DL on April 30th and has made four appearances, including picking up his first save on May 9th. He’s recently been unavailable due to some stiffness in his elbow, however, and now he’s headed back to Philadelphia for tests:
Whether this is something new or just standard stiffness related to last year’s surgery, we don’t yet know. What matters, though, is that with Ryan Madson already out, the Phillies’ bullpen can use all the help it can get, so the hope is that this is but a minor speed bump in Lidge’s recovery.
