Brad Lidge Sent Home To Have Elbow Examined

Brad Lidge came off the DL on April 30th and has made four appearances, including picking up his first save on May 9th. He’s recently been unavailable due to some stiffness in his elbow, however, and now he’s headed back to Philadelphia for tests:

Brad Lidge has been sent back to Philly for an examination on his sore right elbow.

Whether this is something new or just standard stiffness related to last year’s surgery, we don’t yet know. What matters, though, is that with Ryan Madson already out, the Phillies’ bullpen can use all the help it can get, so the hope is that this is but a minor speed bump in Lidge’s recovery.
