Drew Brees: Super Bowl Winning QB and Switch-Hitting Softball Slugger

I think our own LSUFreek would agree that Drew Brees can do no wrong in New Orleans after winning a Super Bowl in Miami a few months ago. Anything he does at this point is just adding on to his legend. With that being said, I give you Brees’ display of softball slugging from Wednesday night’s Heath Evans Softball Showdown.↵↵First, from the right side before the game:↵

↵But wait, he can also do it during the game from the left side:↵

↵
↵Brees wound up winning the home run derby with three homers from each side of the plate. (Why he was hitting from both sides in the HR derby is unclear, but I approve of it.) And yeah, you can say “Oh it’s just a softball game,” but did you listen to the audio? These people are freaking out over this. Honestly, the fact that Brees made it out of a charity softball game without sustaining an injury tells me he might have what it takes to beat the Madden curse.↵
