Lori Lindsey Wins Women’s Professional Soccer Player of the Month

Midfielder Lori Lindsey was surprisingly available when Women’s Professional Soccer teams announced who they were making available for the offseason’s expansion draft, but a strong winter with the U.S. Women’s National Team and a great start to her Philadelphia Independence career has left last season with the Washington Freedom behind.

Today, Lindsey’s new start got a boost when she was named WPS Player of the Month for April, beating out Saint Louis Athletica goalkeeper Hope Solo, Boston Breakers midfielder Kelly Smith and former Freedom teammate Abby Wambach.
