The Redskins held a press conference to officially announce Donovan McNabb as the newest Redskin.
Donovan McNabb Officially Introduced In Washington
There weren’t any major revelations but a few interesting nuggets.
He wasn’t floored by the trade because he knew the Eagles were listening to offers for him. He did however say, ‘I guess I’m too old’ at one point. He’s 33 years old.
McNabb has talked to Jason Campbell and told him “the sky’s the limit for you”. Mike Shanahan has also said Campbell is free to seek a trade partner so he can start.
McNabb said facing the Eagles would be another divisional game like facing the Cowboys or Giants. Really? He was very respectful throughout this entire thing and this statement is a reflection of that. However, other indications are that he’s ready to get back at his former team.
He felt he was treated fairly by the fans, which is a pretty surprising statement because Eagles fans railed him during his 11 year tenure in Philadelphia.
He feels Kevin Kolb will be successful in Philadelphia.
