The terms of the trade that sent Donovan McNabb to the Redskins included a second round pick and a third or fourth round pick depending on certain escalators.
How The Eagles Can Get The Redskins Third Round Pick In McNabb Trade
We now know what those escalators are.
The pick becomes a third rounder if....
McNabb goes to the Pro Bowl: He’s a six-time Pro Bowler but only once since 2004 in the Eagles pass happy offense so that would be difficult to pull off.
Or McNabb plays 70% of his snaps: McNabb would have missed this escalator twice in the last five seasons. Add the Redskins porous offensive line and this is no gimme.
Or Redskins win nine or more games: They won four games last year but a competent quarterback makes all the difference in the world in the NFL. This may be their best shot at saving that third round pick.
It would appear McNabb and the Redskins have some work to do if they want to keep that third round pick.
