Bad Fight Alert: Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller v. Tim Stout At Strikeforce: Nashville
A middleweight bout between Jason “Mayhem” Miller (22-7 MMA, 0-1 SF) and Nashville, Tenn.-based fighter Tim Stout (9-7 MMA, 0-0 SF) has been tapped to replace a slot reserved for heavyweight Bobby Lashley on the CBS-televised “Strikeforce: Nashville.”
A source close to Stout confirmed to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today that both parties have agreed to the fight and bout agreements will be issued shortly.
So Miller will be moving from a title fight with Jake Shields to a prelim fight with 9-7 Tim Stout. This is clearly nothing more than a rebound fight and it’s a pathetic one at that. The only possible reason for this fight to happen is for Mayhem to catch the ultra-catchable Stout with a submission quickly enough that it can fill time in the main card should one of the title fights go a little too quickly.
Still, this is the kind of gross mismatch that is leading to people refusing to take Strikeforce cards seriously top to bottom.
