Brad Stevens Joins Letterman, Gets Offered a New Job

Butler coach Brad Stevens began the post-Final Four talk show circuit on Tuesday, which included a stop with David Letterman via satellite. You can watch his appearance below:â†µ

â†µNow in (half) Letterman style, the top bits from the interview in list fashion:â†µâ†µ4. “I’m too young to take your bait.” (Stevens not biting on a comment Letterman made about Michigan State coach Tom Izzo and his prediction of a blowout win by Duke.)â†µ

â†µâ†µ3. “Go get yourself some chocolate milk coach.” (Letterman closing up the interview.)â†µ

â†µâ†µ2. “Just don’t let him do that. Coach I don’t know if you know this, but in the NBA, they’ve got guns in the locker room.” (Letterman advising Stevens on Gordon Hayward possibly going pro.)â†µ

â†µâ†µI’d give Stevens a B- on his appearance. Said all the right things, but he’s got to loosen up a bit. Well, maybe he’s right to keep it close to the vest and not say anything too stupid or brash until Butler lights his old contract on fire and gives him something with an extra zero at the end of his salary.â†µ

â†µThe Duke-Butler title game also got a brief mention from The Daily Show on Tuesday in a segment that also included the Clark Kellogg and President Obama's game of POTUS. â†µ
