Who’s That On Top Of The Final Practice Chart? Could It Be Jeff Gordon?

Jeff Gordon, who began the day struggling to find the speed in his car, led Sprint Cup Series final practice on Friday afternoon by posting a lap of 131.444 mph.

Gordon was ahead of AJ Allmendinger, Ryan Newman, Greg Biffle and Jeff Burton.

Jimmie Johnson, Brian Vickers, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano and Tony Stewart rounded out the top 10.

There were several incidents during the practice, though none resulted in major damage. Johnson lost control of his car and spun, along with Ambrose and Busch. David Reutimann scraped the wall and sustained minor damage to his car.

Qualifying begins at 7:10 p.m. Eastern time tonight, followed by the Nationwide Series race.
