Andray Blatche and Nick Young Are Dialing It Up

↵↵Ever since the departure of DeShawn Stevenson to Dallas, the Washington Wizards have been sorely lacking in odd celebratory hand gestures. It’s an important thing to have in basketball. One reason being that the Wizards have little to celebrate in general these days. The other being that finding a movement that combines the proper amount of randomness and boasting is sometimes difficult to find. ↵

↵↵Stevenson, of course, was fond of doing the “can’t feel my face” hand wave after making a big shot. Now, Nick Young and Andray Blatche have filled the void of odd hand motions by making sticking out their pinky and thumb by their ear, as someone would do to ask someone to give them a call, during pre-game festivities and following a big play made by one of the two players.↵

↵

↵And so the "dial it up" is born. It took the watchful eyes of Kyle Weidie at Truth About It to capture it, but now it's set to become a phenomenon. That is, it would if anyone were still paying attention to the Wizards. ↵

↵↵Still unclear is what exactly inspired this gesture, but in a way it’s almost better not to know. Sure, they could just be “dialing up” their game, or they could be requesting the number of every woman in the arena. Oh, those bawdy Wizards.↵
