Maybe more importantly, the winners have been rallying down the center of the racetrack, suggesting that the track near the inside rail is “dead” — meaning it is deeper and horses who are stuck down there are at a disadvantage.
By the same token, this is bad news for Lookin At Lucky and Ice Box, who start at posts 1 and 2, respectively. If they can’t get off the rail, they might be in trouble.
