Carlos Boozer’s No Good, Very Bad, Altogether Awful Night

You know those days when you just have a terrible time at work? When your boss is harassing you about missed assignments, your co-workers aren’t doing their jobs, and you’re just sitting there exhausted, waiting for the day to end? That’s probably how Utah’s Carlos Boozer felt at work last night, getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Lakers for the third year in a row, and getting embarassed on defense by Pau Gasol and company.

↵So what’s the best way to top that off? From a Lakers employee:

And the driver of the media bus just backed into one of the Jazz's Escalades...

And.... it's Carlos Boozer's Escalade. That's an even more unfortunate ending to his evening.

↵

↵That’s actually Tiger Woods’ Escalade pictured above, not Boozer’s. And while his car probably sustained some real damage at the hands of the bus, Boozer, who finished the series by fouling out with just 10 points, can take solace: he’s a free-agent this summer, with the option to work somewhere else. But more importantly, he can borrow a tactic of mine when I have a really awful day: “Hey, at least I’m not Tiger Woods!”

↵Listen, there are a lot of different ways to wreck your Escalade, but none worse than an international embarassment exposing countless extra-marital affairs, throwing your perfect marriage into jeopardy, and leaving you the punchline to a thousand Jay Leno jokes. Did Carlos Boozer have to deal with an angry Elin last night? Didn’t think so.

↵When you think about it that way, it makes “getting hit by the Lakers’ media bus” seem almost quaint. So, Carlos: As much as last night sucked, at least you’re not Tiger...
