Josh Beckett Forced To Miss Next Start With Back Spasms
Josh Beckett got checked out today. Strictly back spasms. Won't start Friday. No word yet on when he will pitch.
Beckett's sitting on an ugly 7.46 ERA, but until this injury he physically felt fine, and he's not as bad as his numbers. As such, this is a situation to monitor, as Beckett's a guy the Red Sox need to get going if they want to make a run, and back injuries have a nasty habit of lingering and flaring up at inopportune moments.
It’s worth noting that back spasms plagued Beckett in March of 2008. They did not recur during the year.
