The Race without a Name: A Dover 200 Camping World Preview
I feel as if the Camping World Series doesn’t get it’s fair shake.
It has become a great place to see older Nascar drivers who don’t have the ability in a Cup car anymore. Guys like Mike Skinner, Todd Bodine, Ron Hornaday Jr, and, until recently Rick Crawford could go out there and fight for a win.
Lately, the younger guys have gone out there and done well.
Colin Braun was a top 10 favorite last year. Kevin Harvick (who’s almost past the point of being called a young gun), Kyle Busch, Timothy Peters and Johnny Sauter have been winning races.
The Dover race this week for the Camping World Truck Series will most likely be a great race, but it will be over before you can watch it as Speed Channel has decided to tape delay the race. The actual race takes place at 4:45 pm eastern, but Speed will show the race at 8pm eastern.
So tune in then, unless you watch the race online.

One thing you may note, only 35 Trucks are entered into the race at this time. That means, unless a truck team can scamper down to Dover Downs Delaware, this race will be a truck short. It’s good news for the 10 trucks who are outside the top 25 in points.
Elliott Sadler will return to action this week in the Best Buy/Insignia Chevy for Kevin Harvick Inc. Having Sadler in the truck is interesting, since Sadler is a Ford driver for RPM. It also is interesting as Sadler is a free agent in the Cup series next season, and there has been speculation of Kevin Harvick bringing his Nationwide team to Cup, or Stewart Haas Racing expanding. Sadler will drive a lime green Insignia Truck with black flames. I’ve seen the layout. It’s a pretty slick Truck.
Johnny Benson returns to the 15 Truck this week for Billy Ballew, and James Buescher will again make an attempt in the Wolf Pack 31 Chevy. Many thought Buescher would race full time this year in Trucks. Still not sure why he didn’t but he will be racing the rest of the races this year. Last week Rick Crawford learned that his 14 Truck, which was solidly in the top 25, would no longer be running. This week, Ray Hackett’s 76 Ford, which Crawford ran last week, is not entered into the event. Rick Crawford is now the Alex O’Laughlin of Camping World Trucks: two trucks stop running after having Crawford behind the wheel. Eerie. You will notice that Crawford is not in any truck this week. There may be something to that.
You really should tune into Speed on Friday night, as long as you’re not at the Sock Hop or parked up on Lover’s Lane. Even tape delayed, this should be an action packed race.
