Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery Results - Alistair Overeem Demolishes Brett Rogers

No one expected the fight to go very long, but I don’t think anyone expected it to be as lopsided as it ended up being. Brett Rogers was able to land one strike before Overeem got a hold of him and ragdolled him to the ground. From there it was clear that Rogers had no ability to get off his back. Overeem landed a huge flurry of punches that forced referee “Big” John McCarthy to stop the fight.

It was Rogers’ second loss in a row after dropping his last bout to Fedor Emelianenko. Overeem made the first successful defense of his Strikeforce heavyweight title since winning it in 2007.

Assuming Fedor is able to beat Fabricio Werdum in June, Strikeforce actually has a hot potential fight on their hands if the Russian’s camp will agree to fight Overeem.
