Lord Triesman, who earlier today stepped-down from his position as chairman of England’s 2018 World Cup bid committee, has also resigned from the same post he holds with the English Football Association.

Triesman has offered his resignation in the wake of a Mail on Sunday story detailing his bribery allegations against Spain and Russia, two other countries bidding for the 2018 finals.
