Radiation Therapy Won’t Keep Martina Navratilova From French Open

From the “you’re a terrible human being who didn’t go to the gym this afternoon” files: Martina Navratilova, always a little more machine than human, isn’t going to let some pissant little breast cancer diagnosis get in the way of her French Open agenda. The lady has plans, y’all:

↵In addition to doing television work for The Tennis Channel, the 56-year old tennis great will play in the four-team senior doubles competition at Roland Garros alongside her doubles partner Jana Novotna. Oh, she’ll be doing all of that in between receiving radiation treatments for breast cancer.↵Emphasis added for shaming purposes, because damn. How are all the perfectly healthy tennis phenoms who pulled out of the tournament blaming a hamstring or a hangnail or whatever feeling today? Just idle curiosity.
