An 87-year-old man died early Monday from his injuries sustained in a Texas Motor Speedway ridealong crash last weekend, according to an Associated Press report.

↵The report said the man, World War II veteran Fred Krusemark, had selected a ridealong with the Texas Driving Experience as a reward for donating blood.
↵Krusemark was a passenger in the car, which reportedly blew a tire and hit the wall. The AP story said Krusemark died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
↵The driver remained in critical condition on Tuesday, the story said.
↵According to the Texas Driving Experience web site, the program offers laps around the TMS infield road course in a 450-plus horsepower Z06 Corvette.
↵The web site, which says passengers are strapped into their seats with a five-point harness, boasts that its program is “Safe! Educational! Fun!”
