If It Were Up To Employees Of The Orlando Magic, Dwight Howard Would Be Your MVP

116 of 123 voters named LeBron James as their NBA Most Valuable Player this year. Of the seven voters who did not vote for LeBron, four voted for Kevin Durant and three voted for Dwight Howard. You might be shocked to learn this but the three Dwight Howard voters all hail from Orlando. And two of them are actually employees of the Orlando Magic:

Cleveland's LeBron James won the MVP award on Sunday. C Dwight Howard finished a distant fourth, receiving three first-place votes — all from Orlando-are media members. John Denton of orlandomagic.com, team broadcaster David Steele and AOL's Tim Povtak cast first-place votes for Howard.

↵So the guy who writes for the Orlando Magic official website voted for Orlando’s best player in the year when most people who watch the NBA for a living voted for LeBron? As did the guy paid by the Magic to broadcast their games. Color me shocked.

↵I’m not trying to say the fact that employees of (or work for companies in business with) NBA teams who so obviously have incentive to vote for their team’s player turns voting for awards like this into a joke, but...well...I guess I am.
