Flyers 3, Canadiens 0: Leighton Posts Another Shutout, Flyers Take 3-1 Lead

Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - A little over two weeks ago, the Flyers were dealt a setback at home to be pushed to the brink of elimination in their semifinal series against the Bruins.

Amazingly, Philadelphia rallied for the historic comeback and is now one win away from its first trip to the Stanley Cup Finals since 1997.

Claude Giroux and Ville Leino each scored in a dominant second period, as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated Montreal, 3-0, to grab a three-games-to-one lead in the Eastern Conference finals.

Giroux added an empty-net goal in the late stages of regulation.

Michael Leighton, coming off his first postseason loss in Game 3, needed to make just 17 saves to post his third shutout of the series.

The seventh-seeded Flyers head home with the opportunity to secure the conference crown on Monday.

Jaroslav Halak turned away 22 shots for eighth-seeded Montreal, which failed to ride the wave of momentum following Thursday's convincing 5-1 triumph at Bell Centre.
