6-0 middleweight and Renzo Gracie black belt, Dave Branch, has recently signed a four-fight contract with the UFC. The former Bellator veteran began fighting professionally in 2007, posting a well-rounded undefeated record including three submissions and three TKO’s. Branch made his Bellator debut last June, and after a brief stint fighting for the UCC organization, he returned in April for Bellator 15, defeating Derrick Mehmen by rear naked choke.
UFC Snags Dave Branch From Bellator, Signs Four-Fight Deal
↵This type of signing may become more regular. The UFC made a similar move last year picking up Jake Ellenberger, a young fighter who could have made waves for the smaller promotion. Bellator could become the premier proving ground for young fighters to showcase their abilities. Don’t be surprised if the UFC shows similar interest in fighters like Dan Hornbuckle and Eddie Alvarez
