Breaking: Stephen Strasburg Is Mortal

The Mayor of Syracuse had not surrendered a run in his three appearances since joining the Syracuse Chiefs. That streak ended tonight as Strasburg allowed two runs on five hits in five innings of work. Now that he’s damaged goods, the Nats would be smart to cut their losses (right, Steve Phillips?). Then again, even if they don’t I suppose they’re still getting a decent arm.

↵In four starts at Triple-A Syracuse, Strasburg is 3-0 with a 0.39 ERA in 23 1/3 Triple-A innings. And if you combine his time at Syracuse with his previous stint in Harrisburg, his ERA jumps to a gaudy 0.99.
