Wes Welker’s Recovery Going Well Enough For Him To Jig
↵
↵Reports indicate that Wes Welker is ahead of schedule in recovering from reconstructive knee and rotator cuff surgeries, most likely because of grittiness, scrappiness or hustle. Or possibly a gutty combination of the three. However, he still has a long way to go before he’s the frustratingly elusive slot receiver of old. ↵↵In the meantime, Patriots fans can take heart that Welker’s knee is in good enough shape that he was able to shimmy for a few seconds during the Celtics’ Dancing Gino routine during Boston’s Game 2 rout of the Magic on Saturday. See, everyone always jokes that the Patriots are fine with Julian Edelman in place of Welker, but where are his displays of jubilation when other hometown teams are excelling? Clearly Edelman is not up to the task of being a physical embodiment of Boston sports fandom, which is an integral role Welker plays in Beantown. ↵
