Rousimar Palhares v. Nate Marquardt Is Actual UFN 22 Main Event
It appears as though the earlier website update that made it appear as though Marquardt vs. Demian Maia was the new UFC 22 main event it appears that was just a mistake made during the UFC’s update of their website. The actual main event will be a fight between Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares.
Palhares has developed a large following in the hardcore fanbase for his violent submission game. Marquardt will need to use his wrestling to try to keep the fight on the feet where his striking should give him an advantage.

The Ultimate Fight Night 22 website has been updated to reflect that a rematch between Nate Marquardt and Demian Maia has been moved to the main event of the show after Maia’s original opponent, Alan Belcher, was injured.

Alan Belcher confirmed via his twitter on Sunday that he has suffered a detached retina and will be forced to withdraw from his Ultimate Fight Night 22 bout with Demian Maia. Belcher was coming off of a solid win over Patrick Cote.
There is no word as of yet on a replacement opponent for Maia.
