Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com has a couple of interesting nuggets regarding the surprising release of former Seahawks RB LenDale White.
LenDale White’s Effort Level ‘Stood Out Like A Sore Thumb’, Release Unrelated To Suspension
First, Marvez reports White’s effort level “stood out like a sore thumb” since the Seahawks made a draft day trade for his services. This comes after reports that he weighed in at 219 pounds at the Seahawks OTAs. He was teetering near 260 pounds last season so considering the weight loss the report about his effort level is a tad surprising.
Next, Marvez reports his suspension was unrelated to the report that he’s facing a drug-related suspension.
The source said the release was not related to an NFL Network report that White was facing a four-game suspension for failing a drug test. However, the positive test was confirmed although it remains uncertain whether White failed for a recreational or performance-enhancing substance.
