I disappointing first half for the United States in Philadelphia ends with Turkey up 1-0 on a 27th minute goal from Arda Turan.
United States Trails At Halftime, 1-0 To Turkey In Philadelphia
Turan nearly added a second before half when he again went in through the right side of the U.S. defense, with the winger putting an ill-fated chip across the six in lieu of testing Tim Howard.
Jozy Altidore brilliantly created an opportunity minutes before half, skinning Servet Cetin at the left-edge of the box before rolling a nice ball across the face of goal. Clint Dempsey was barely late to put home an equalizer.
But the half was controlled by the Turks, particularly on the counter-attack, where the Turks were able to create multiple opportunities through Turan.
