Sure, we’re in the throes of the NBA Playoffs right now, with the best teams in the league battling it out for supremacy. And that’s all great. But what about the worst teams in the league? For them, it’s draft time, baby! So in honor of the New Jersey Nets, SB Nation’s first 2010 NBA Mock Draft. ↵3. Sacramento Kings — C Demarcus Cousins (Kentucky)
↵4. Golden State Warriors — PF Derrick Favors (Ga. Tech)
↵5. Washington Wizards — G/F Wesley Johnson (Syracuse)
↵6. Philadelphia 76ers — Al-Farouq Aminu (Wake Forest)
↵7. Detroit Pistons — Ed Davis (North Carolina)
↵8. Los Angeles Clippers — Xavier Henry (Kansas)
↵9. Utah Jazz — Cole Aldrich (Kansas)
↵10. Indiana Pacers — Greg Monroe (Georgetown)
↵↵And going 11th overall? That would be Daniel Orton, he of the 3.4 ppg average (and 3.3 rebounds!) at Kentucky this past year. I know, I know, it seems crazy. But remember: this is a verrrry early Mock Draft. In other words, there’s still time for Orton to move into the top 10. (Number 8 to the Clippers? Feels like fate.)
↵A lot of this will change over the next few months, but is there any doubt that Cole Aldrich is going to the Utah Jazz? I mean, all due respect to Scott at Ridiculous Upside, but it doesn’t take an “expert” to see that one coming...
