There Are About to Be More College Football Highlight Reels on YouTube
↵
↵Several football players have generated buzz with fans by displaying feats of athletic greatness of YouTube. Receiver Keith Eloi was one of the most notable with the clip of him jumping backwards out of a swimming pool. What effect that had on his appeal to NFL teams is unclear, but most likely it wasn’t the determining factor in whether or not he got a chance to play in the NFL.↵↵Joel Reinders, however, can definitely point to YouTube as a reason why he will get a shot to play with a pro team. That’s because the Cleveland Browns, impressed with the above video, decided to sign the offensive tackle as an undrafted free agent. Perhaps it was the operatic action movie-like score.↵

↵It's obvious Reinders has the physical tools to make an impact at 6'7", 320 lbs, if not the experience. He played only eight games at the University of Waterloo in Canada, which he attended on a basketball scholarship. He also played hockey as a kid, so it's been a bit of a journey to find the sport that may eventually become his living. If he does make it, it's going to take some more standout moves in practice, coupled with a good deal of coaching.↵
↵↵It was a serendipitous move for the player. Rather than, as he was coming out of school, send his game tape to individual CFL teams, his agent decided to edit the clips and put them online for their convenience. This led to Reinders being contacted by three NFL teams, including the Browns, prior to the draft. It’s also a ploy likely to be replicated by many upcoming players in the future↵
