Manny Ramirez, who’s been out of action since April 23rd with a strained calf, is back with the Dodgers and will be in the lineup Saturday night. To make room, Xavier Paul has been optioned back to AAA.
Manny Ramirez Returns From Strained Calf
Dodgers blog True Blue LA has some commentary on Manny’s absence:
Manny Ramirez aggravated his right calf on April 22, running out a single in Cincinnati. He was placed on the disabled list the next day, and the Dodger offense has suffered ever since:
| 2010 Dodger Offense | ||||||||
| Split | G | Runs | R/G | PA | HR | BA/OBP/SLG | OPS | BABIP |
| w/Manny | 15 | 98 | 6.53 | 634 | 18 | .311/.382/.485 | .867 | .346 |
| w/o Manny | 14 | 55 | 3.93 | 529 | 10 | .241/.307/.378 | .685 | .290 |
Sure, the Dodgers weren't going to score six and a half runs per game all season, but the drop-off without Manny has been precipitous.
