The NCAA Men’s Lacrosse brackets are out and, as expected, Virginia is the No. 1 seed, followed by No. 2 Syracuse, No. 3 Maryland and No. 4 North Carolina.
Virginia Lacrosse Is The No. 1 Seed, But Are They The Favorite?
↵UVA’s opponent on Saturday, Mount Saint Mary’s, should prepare for what will easily be the most-watched and most-scrutinized game either team has played in. This will be the Cavaliers’ first game since the events surrounding Yeardley Love’s murder. The Cavs breezed through the regular season despite playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation. However, the emotional toll the last week has taken on the team might put them at risk of an upset.
↵Some other notable items...
- ↵↵Two-time defending champion Syracuse could be looking at a 2nd-round re-match against the team they beat for the title last year, Cornell.
- ↵Iconic former Princeton coach Bill Tierney has his new team Denver in the NCAA Tournament in his first year on the job. Great for the sport.
- ↵Johns Hopkins made the tournament despite finishing .500 thanks to a strong RPI (and probably some historical preference).
↵The big snubee? Georgetown, who finished 9-5 and No. 9 RPI ranking.
