Dallas Braden. You knew him as the guy who got angry at Alex Rodriguez for daring to walk across his mound. Now you know him as the 19th player in Major League Baseball history to throw a perfect game.
In Oakland, Braden threw 109 pitches and 6 strikeouts against the Tampa Bay Rays, the team with the best record in baseball.. An absolutely outstanding achievement from the 26-year-old lefty, who possessed a 4.14 ERA heading into Sunday's game. The A's won by a 4-0 score.
It hasn't even been a year since the last perfect game, thrown by Mark Buehrle on July 23, 2009.
We'll have plenty more on Braden's historic afternoon. Be sure to check in with SB Nation's Athletics blog, Athletics Nation.
