Blackhawks Cup Celebrations Tame, Unless You Live On This Guy’s Block

↵The Chicago Blackhawks left Philadelphia with the team’s first Stanley Cup since 1961, which was obviously going to prompt some raucous behavior among euphoric hockey fans back home in the Windy City. And so it was. Beneath the glow of a building lit up to display the Cup (whereas one couldn’t even spell the name of the team correctly a few weeks back) a few Blackhawks fans got carried away in marking the occasion.↵↵However, by the standards of big city sports titles, the results weren’t horrible. Sure, 19 people were arrested, but those were all for misdemeanor transgressions. Chances are, Philly would have witnessed more destruction if the Flyers had rallied to win the last two games of the series.↵
↵↵Even those arrested were at least able to get sleep at some point in the early morning hours. Probably not the neighbors of Carol Stream, IL resident Rich Young, a Blackhawks fan who installed a huge horn on his front lawn, which he sets off when the Blackhawks score and thrice when the team wins. Who knows how many times he used it to mark a championship? Most likely a few more than three. While no neighbor has come forward to object to it going off, hopefully Young kept it to the usual three horn blasts last night. It was a evening to celebrate, but for some folks, it was still just another Wednesday.↵
