Uruguay Vs. France: Conservative Uruguayans Force French To Half Drawn 0-0
The match’s best chance came early in the half, as Franck Ribery put a ball across the face of goal after breaking through the right side of Uruguay’s defense.
After that, Uruguay was able to keep France from generating any good opportunities while they waiting for chances on the counter. Their one decent shot on goal goal came off a half-counter, with Diego Forlán’s 20 yard shot easily handled by Hugo Lloris when the Uruguayan striker did not get far enough outside the ball when trying to curl a shot to Lloris’s far post.
Three times Uruguay almost sprung breaks only to have Luis Suárez whistled offside.
