Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Just prior to Saturday's contest against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Red Sox placed starter Daisuke Matsuzaka on the 15-day disabled list with a right forearm strain.

To fill the roster spot, the Sox recalled left-hander Dustin Richardson from Triple-A Pawtucket.
Matsuzaka, who was 5-2 with a 4.59 earned-run average, had hurled a one-hit shutout over the Phils in his last outing against the club on May 22 in Philadelphia. He had won three of his last four starts prior to this setback.
