The best goalkeeper in Group C might be hurt. Lesser keepers seem keen on hurting their countries.

Algeria’s Faouzi Chaouchi badly misplayed a curled strike from outside the box by Slovenia’s Robert Koren, and that goal made it 1-0 in Slovenia’s favor late in the second. The Green Dragons held that advantage for the duration, and now sit atop Group C; the U.S. will play Slovenia on Friday, and need a win to maintain control of their fate.
