Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will not be fighting in 2010. And now the target they’re looking at is May 2011. Hey, folks, only about six more months before we enter this exciting cycle again.

Boxing fans waiting and hoping for a Manny Pacquiao fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. will have to keep waiting.
Promotor Bob Arum said early Saturday morning (or late Friday night, depending on your way of thinking) that Mayweather never responded to the latest proposal. Arum had set a 3 a.m. (Eastern) deadline for Mayweather to sign on to the long-talked-about fight between two of boxing’s biggest stars, even going so far as to put a “Money Mayweather Countdown Clock” on the Top Rank website.

For years, boxing fans have salivated over the prospect of a fight between the sport’s two biggest names, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. It appears, though, that in Saturday’s wee hours, we’ll know the fate of this dream match-up. From Top Rank Boxing:

According to Sports Illustrated, representatives of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have agreed to terms on a deal that would place men in the ring together--at long last--for a November 13th title fight. The terms, which have apparently been approved by Pacquiao, are pending the approval of Floyd Mayweather, but otherwise, it looks like we could finally see the blockbuster that boxing fans have wanted all along.
