Kevin Costner is currently the celebrity getting all the attention for his company’s device that has been touted as a possible solution for clearing the oil from the Gulf of Mexico.↵
Make Way, Troy Aikman And Drew Bledsoe Are Going To Solve This Oil Spill Crisis

↵↵Without getting too far into the scientific particulars, the machines act as giant centrifuges to separate oil from water, which, if effective, would greatly aid clean-up efforts. BP has already invested in 32 of the machines that Costner’s company developed.↵
↵↵That doesn’t mean that can be the only possible technological solution, or even the definitive one. A company called Ecosphere, with investments from former Pro Bowl quarterbacks Troy Aikman and Drew Bledsoe, has fashioned a device of their own. The company has already held meetings with BP, where Bledsoe tried to sell the company on his product’s bona fides and explain how it is a better option than BP’s current chemical treatment on the water.↵
↵↵⇥“This is not technology sitting on the shelf waiting for a disaster,” Bledsoe said. “This is technology out in the field satisfying contracts for well over a year, so it’s proven. ... When you watch it, it is magic seeing dirty, nasty water go in one end and then crystal, clean water out the other end.” ↵⇥↵⇥“That keeps it underwater and out of sight, out of mind, which we don’t think is the long-term answer,” said Bledsoe, who played for the Cowboys in 2005-06. “It just keeps the oil in the water. What we’re proposing is using our technology to help get the oil to the surface in a more contained environment, so we can more efficiently strip the oil out of the water.”↵⇥
↵↵ ↵↵Whether it’s Costner’s or Aikman’s and Bledsoe’s device that works best (or if either work at all), I think we’re all in agreement that we just want the Gulf cleaned.↵
