Wimbledon Day 1: Roger Federer Loses First Set to Falla

Defending Champion Roger Federer has dropped the first set to Alejandro Falla, 7-5. Falla earned the first break of the match in the eleventh game, and then held to take the first set.

The last time Federer lost the first set in the first round of Wimbledon?

Way back in 2002, when he lost in the first round to Mario Ancic.

It’s certainly too early to predict his demise this morning, but this is not the start Federer was looking for at the All-England Club. Stay tuned for updates on Federer and other opening matches throughout the day.
